1.  What is your current role(s) at Vaughn Schools?
Substitute teacher

2.  What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have?
I spent 30 years teaching elementary grades in public schools and two years teaching in a private school.  For the last eight years, I have done substitute teaching in various schools near Great Falls.

3.  Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and if/where you graduated from college.  
I was born in Wisconsin and spent my childhood growing up on a dairy farm.  I moved to Montana in 1978, and earned my B.S. and Master’s Degree in Billings.  

4.  Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other. 
My oldest daughter and her family live in Texas.  I also have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren there.  My youngest child, Theresa, will be a junior this fall at Foothills Christian School in Great Falls.  My husband, Roy, is a retired Navy veteran who works part-time at Home Depot.

5.  Do you have any pets?
Our family has three dogs and two cats.  The dogs are a pretty much unknown breed called Coton de Tulear.  They are small, fluffy, and very much like potato chips (a person cannot have just one).

6.  What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy reading, crafts of many kinds, and Animal Crossing.  Our family has enjoyed many RV trips to interesting places in our great country and hope to do more.

7.  Are there any other interesting tidbits you want to share about yourself?
When I was in eighth grade, I had the opportunity to be a teacher’s helper.  I knew then my destiny was in the classroom.  I sometimes stand at the door of the cafeteria in the morning and just listen to the children’s voices.  It touches something in my soul.  I think the happiest sound in the world is the laughter of children.
