1.  What is your current role(s) at Vaughn Schools? 
Half time 5-8 grade math.

2.  What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have? 
1 year at Paris Gibson Middle School 7th math, English, & Creative writing
2 years as a math tutor at Great Falls High School
26 years at Vaughn School in which I have taught 6th grade, 5th grade, 7-8 grade math, science, art, PE and health.  1 year teaching 3-8 grade math at the colony.

3.  Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and if/where you graduated from college. 
Born in the Territory of Hawaii
Moved to Great Falls at the age of 5.
Graduated from Charles M. Russell High School where I barrel raced and pole bended, was in mounted color guard, and played the French horn and trumpet in band and orchestra. 
Graduated from the College of the Rockies as a Veterinary Technician (worked at Great Falls Veterinary Clinic for 16 years)

4.  Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other. 
I am widowed from my wonderful husband, Ed Hughes
I have 2 beautiful and talented girls, Deanna a PHD student teaching nursing at Carroll College and Kristina a Dr. of Physical Therapy working with Neurology patients at Brooks Rehabilitation in Florida.
4 wonderful grandchildren ranging from ages 1 to 19, and 1 step granddaughter.

5.  Do you have any pets?
I have 1 dog, Hana, and 2 cats, Skettie and Sadie

6.  What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I love to golf, camp, flower garden, travel and just hang out with my family and friends.

7.  Are there any other interesting tidbits you want to share about yourself?
I have been a pony girl and outrider at the horse races.
Worked at the Vet barn at the horse races where I collected the winning horse’s urine after a race.
Swather operator for many summers.
Worked cattle on horseback for many years.
