Happy October

Some things that are happening with school infrastructure include the message board on the highway being installed, electrical run to the unit and now it is up and running. This board is another key piece in our efforts to communicate school news, events and accomplishments. Take a look at it on your drive through Vaughn.

The school board is soliciting bids for one new bus to replace our oldest bus. Those bids will be considered at an upcoming board meeting. The plan is to start using the bus at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, the board considered estimates to repair the sinking foundation under the school. The board tabled a decision on which contractor to select until they had an assurance of the estimate going no higher than an additional 10%. A decision will be made at the November board meeting.

The school is currently looking for an additional part time paraprofessional to work at the colony. This is advertised on our school website. This could potentially turn into a full time position. We also want to welcome Lola Sheldon-Galloway to our staff. She will be helping two days per week specifically in our music department. It’s great to have you as part of our team Lola.

I hope everyone has a great month and doesn’t eat too much candy during October. And definitely stay away from candy corn.  Yuck!
