The Vaughn School District is a K-8 System with over 150 terrific kids. The staff includes a superintendent, principal, 14 teachers and 10 support staff, currently governed by a Board of four trustees. We operate on a 4-day school week Mondays - Thursdays.
The District offers a wide variety of programs at the academic and athletic level. Programs include Band, Choir, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling and Track, with an emphasis on providing the best developmental offerings possible. The academic attitude and all-around readiness of the students is reflected in their academic success. We house the Boys and Girls Ranch program, which is a comprehensive school and community support program and it is staffed by two therapists who work closely with our staff. We also offer a free after-school program titled WATCH (Wildcats Are Taken Care of Here) and we recently added a computer coding and technology course, which gives children a hands-on introduction to robotics and computer programming.
Vaughn School is currently operating over 140 computers in classrooms, all of which are networked by recently purchased fiber optics. With one laptop per student in grades 1-8, SMART boards in every room, newly updated Savvas on-line curriculum, document cameras, iPad interactive readers, and phones in every classroom, the District is committed to offering our children the opportunity to leap into the 21st Century well prepared.
