I lived as a child two houses to the west of Vaughn School where I attended grades 1-8. (There was no kindergarten at the school then. My mom would pick up a packet at the monthly PTA meeting and we'd work on it at home together.) I attended Simms High School, then off to BYU-Provo to get my Music Ed degree. I ran out of money, so I came home and got a really great job at the airport and never returned to my college education until my children started attending college themselves. In 2010 I received my associate’s degree in general education from MSU/COT Great Falls. From 2000-2016 I worked as a Music Aid for the following schools: Fort Benton, Great Falls school district, Geraldine and Centerville. Being an accomplished pianist I've enjoyed sharing that talent with any opportunity that comes my way. I've taught piano lessons most of my adult life. I currently work as a paraprofessional teaching music K-5 which is motivating me to get my teaching certificate. I am enjoying every minute of it.
I have been married to Steven Edwin Galloway since 1981 and we are parents of 6 adult children, 3 girls and 3 boys. We have 15 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. We are a no pet house yet raise wild rabbits on our 24 acres and sometimes have the pleasure of watching deer play in our fields along the Sun River.
I'm known for my hat collection. I won't embarrass myself in revealing how many I have. I wear a hat everyday in honor of my mother who passed away in 2013 from cancer. Through that process she lost all her hair. She then started wearing wigs, scarves and hats so I joined her in covering my head too. Everyday it's a reminder and brings me joy knowing that she was my greatest cheerleader. I am who I am because she expected me to reach for the stars and was there when things didn't always turn out so well.
Thank you for this opportunity to work with you and making me feel so welcome.
