1. What is your current role(s) at Vaughn School? 

Paraprofessional

2.  What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have?  

I had a daycare in my home for thirty years. I went to work as a substitute at the Headstart Program in Vaughn and in 2012 I was hired to do the after school program known as the Watch Program and was hired as a para.

3.  Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and if/where you graduated from college. 

I was born and raised in Glasgow Montana. At the end of my 7th grade year, my dad took a job in Great Falls.  My family and l moved to Vaughn, where I attended 8th grade year and then I did my high school years at Simms, which I graduated from. Instead of college. I went into the work field.

4.  Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other.  

My husband Ken and I have been married for 49 years and we have four children who are now grown. We have three sons and one daughter.

Our older son lives in Great Falls with his wife and daughter. He works at Johnson Madison - his wife works at the Great Falls Clinic.

My second son and his wife live in Sun Prairie, and they both are teachers. They have four boys.

Our third son lives in Rapid City, South Dakota with his wife and two children. He is a manager of a retail store.

My daughter and her husband live in Rapid City also. They have two children. My daughter is a housewife and also works part-time at a grocery store. Our son-law was in the military for twenty years and just retired in June 2021. He now works in a car body shop.

My husband has been retired from Probuild for two years now. He works in our yard, helps our neighbors, and has done some fishing. The last couple of years Ken has been a volunteer to Mrs. Buley in the art class helping with the kindergartners and the first graders, and also doing some library work.

5.   Do you have any pets?

We have had several pets over the years and our last pet was a dog - his name was Bandit. He got sick and so we did lose him. At this time we do not have any pets.

6.  What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy baking, doing crafts, yard work, mowing, walking, staying in contact with friends and spending time with my family, and going to my grandchildren's sporting and musical events.

7. Are there any other interesting tidbits you want to share about yourself ?

I just enjoy watching and listening to children as they interact with each other - whether it be at lunch, art, or just wherever. Children are unique in their own way, and adults can learn from them as well as they learn from us. That’s the thing about life, we are all here to learn and then we share and help others’ as well as ourselves.
