1. What is your current role(s) at Vaughn Schools?

CSCT Therapist (Comprehensive School and Community Therapy) for Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR.) CSCT is a mental health service provided by Vaughn School for youth that qualify for the program.

2. What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have?

I taught music for Great Falls Public Schools for 20 years. Needing a change, I began my masters in counseling at Montana State University – Northern (Havre) in 2018. I began working for YBGR in 2021, graduated and became a therapist in 2022.

3. Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and if/where you graduated from college.

I was born in Columbus, Mississippi at Columbus Air Force Base. My Dad had previously been stationed at Malmstrom and wanted to return to Montana. Our family relocated back to Great Falls and Dad retired from his military service at Malmstrom. I am a graduate of Great Falls High School. I have a bachelors of music education from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, a masters in Creative Arts in the Classroom from Lesly University (Boston), and a masters in counseling from Montana State University – Northern (Havre.)

4. Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other.

My daughter, Grace is about to turn 19 and is home from college (Go Griz!) for the summer. My son, Jordi is 14 and will start high school at CMR in the fall.

5. Do you have any pets?

Lucy is our 7 year old chocolate lab.

6. What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I love to crochet, garden, read, and CrossFit.

7. Are there any other interesting tidbits you want to share about yourself?

I have played violin and viola for the Great Falls Symphony of and on since high school. I have had the privilege to perform with YoYo Ma and Itzhak Perlman. I hope to soon become a puppy raiser for Canine Companions.
