1.  What is your current role(s) at Vaughn Schools?     

2nd Grade Teacher

2.  What previous teaching, coaching, or other extracurricular activities have you been involved with, if any, at previous schools and how many years of experience do you have? 

I have 22 years of teaching experience.  My first year of teaching was at Saco Public Schools and I taught 2nd grade.  Years two and three, I taught at Greenfield Elementary in a ⅚ grade combination classroom.  My son was born in May of 1995, and that was the beginning of me being a stay at home mom for 7 years, and during these years my two daughters were born.  In 2002, I continued my teaching career at Dutton Public School for two years.  In 2004, I became a Speech Therapy Assistant in the Great Falls Public Schools.  In 2006, I began teaching at Vaughn Public School as a 5th grade teacher for one year.  The Kindergarten teacher position opened up so I began my 14 memorable years of teaching Kindergarten. In 2021, I moved to my current 2nd grade teacher position which I love. I have taught here at Vaughn for 17 years.  :) 

3.  Give us a brief history to include where you are from, where you were born, where you graduated from high school, and where you graduated from college. 

I am a Montana gal.  I was born in Glasgow, MT.  I grew up in Hinsdale, MT, and I attended Hinsdale Public schools 1st-12th grade, and graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1988.  I then attended Northern Montana College in Havre, now known as MSU-Northern. I graduated from NMC in 1992.

4.  Tell us about your family, spouse, or significant other.   

I  have been married to my best friend, James, since June 1993.  We celebrated our 30th Anniversary.  Together we have 3 adult children, Christian (Stephanie), Emily (Will), & Ericka (Mychal). I have grand-cats, grand-dogs, and grand-goats.  

5.  Do you have any pets?

  I have dogs, cats, chickens, cows, and goats.  I also have 2 turtles, guppy fish, and a 20 year old aquatic frog.  

6.  What are some of your hobbies and interests?

Outside of school,  I enjoy flower gardening, camping, fishing, barbecuing, karaoke, concerts, and spending time with family.
